With Easter only a few days away we've collected our 5 favourite Nutiva chocolate recipes for you to create over the 4 day Easter weekend.  Take a look at our selection of recipes and see if you can pick out just 1 to try, if you're like us you'll struggle to pick just the one and end up making all 5 of them.

1)  CHEWY CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT PROTEIN COOKIES

If you have ever come across a puddle cookie, you likely fell into deep dark chocolate love instantaneously. We put our own, unique spin on them, creating Chewy Chocolate Hazelnut Protein Cookies.

These over-the-top tasty, guilt-free cookies have a crisp edge and a soft center. Their texture is as much of a sensation as their delectable taste.

You’d never know they have our Organic Chocolate Plant Protein Superfood 30 Shake folded inside!

Thanks to Heidi Swanson’s 101 Cook Books Chocolate Puddle Cookie recipe, we were inspired create our own and give it that ole’ super food spin.

INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium to large bowl measure in 7 tablespoons of egg whites and Chocolate Hazelnut Spread, then whisk together.
  3. Throw in chocolate chunks, pecans pieces, coconut sugar, and the scoop of Chocolate Plant Protein Superfood 30 Shake.
  4. Add optional ingredient(s) if desired.
  5. Mix well and spoon batter onto the lined cookie sheet.
  6. Be sure to give enough space as they will spread.
  7. Bake for exactly 15 minutes.
  8. Cool 10-15 minutes.

NOTES

Optional Ingredients to add:

*2 tablespoons Nutiva Organic Hempseed

*¼ teaspoon sea salt

*½ teaspoon vanilla extract

CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT BROWNIES

 

One can never have too many brownies……especially if you have a recipe for Chocolate Hazelnut Brownies!

With just a hint of hazelnut and coconut flavor, these brownies are a step above the rest.

The brownies are gluten and dairy free and include ingredients like Organic Coconut Flour, Cacao, Organic Coconut Sugar and (of course) Organic Chocolate Hazelnut Spread.

Drizzle them with Chocolate Hazelnut Spread for an easy and delicious frosting!

INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Line a small brownie pan (10.25 x 8.625 x 2") with parchment paper.
  3. Mix dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl by hand.
  4. In a separate bowl, place all wet ingredients. Stir together by hand until mixture is creamy.
  5. Add wet ingredients to dry, and stir by hand until a fudge-like batter forms.
  6. Pour batter into the brownie pan.
  7. Bake for 25-26 minutes.
  8. Allow brownies to completely cool before cutting and serving.
  9. Top with more Nutiva Organic Classic Hazelnut Spread.

 

3) CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE

If you’re looking for a simple dark and decadent dessert, our Chocolate Lava Cake has come at the perfect time.

Trying to melt a stressed mind? Grab a fork and break into one of these yum cakes.

With ingredients like various flours, Nutiva Organic Coconut Oil with Buttery Flavor, and (of course) Nutiva Organic Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Spread, this dessert will not disappoint.

INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. In a mixing bowl add all oils and sugar.
  3. With an electric hand mixer whip until well combined.
  4. Add eggs and whip till fluffy.
  5. Add all flours and the Hazelnut Spread, and whip another 2 minutes or so.
  6. So the cake comes out easily, spread about a teaspoon or so of oil in each ramekin.
  7. Then, sprinkle a pinch of coconut sugar in each ramekin.
  8. Pour half the batter into each ramekin.
  9. Set on a cookie sheet and place on the top rack in the oven.
  10. Bake for 11-12 minutes.

SOFT CHOCOLATE POPCORN BARK

A great grab 'n go snack or after dinner dessert! This soft chocolate popcorn bark is gluten and dairy free.

INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a large pot, heat Buttery Coconut Oil for 1 minute on medium to medium heat (make sure it does not smoke).
  2. Release your handfuls of popcorn kernels in the hot oil.
  3. Cover and listen for the popping to start, be very attentive and after a minute or so; with hot mittens, hold the lid down and toss a few times to get "maximum pops" and while not possibly burning the already popped corn.
  4. All popcorn should be done popping after no more than 4 minutes.
  5. While the popped corn is in the pot squeeze out 4 packets of Hazelnut Spread and mix thoroughly.
  6. On a large plate or cookie sheet spread out the mixture and sprinkle hempseeds on top.
  7. Freeze for at least 1 hour.
  8. Enjoy!

  1. Combine all ingredients in food processor and blend until smooth.
  2. Note: It may be helpful to grind the hempseeds first to ensure a smooth consistency.
